Casey's Call: Tuesday's Top 10
1. Alabama (4-0): The Tide got a big scare from Arkansas. But what doesn't kill them only makes them stronger. Timely defense along with Mark Ingram's huge day (157 yards - 2 touchdowns) helped 'Bama persevere in hostile territory. Another huge SEC test awaits on Saturday… This week: Florida
2. Boise State (3-0): The Broncos didn't play a perfect game against Oregon State, but Kellen Moore showed once again why he's the best quarterback in the country and the defense accomplished their #1 goal of shutting down the Rodgers brothers. Job well done… This week: @ New Mexico State
3. Ohio State (4-0): We're going to learn a lot about this Buckeye team once Big 10 play gets underway, but I like what I see so far. The defense is legit and Terrelle Pryor gets better and better each week, as evidence by his 6 touchdown performance in their 73-20 win over Eastern Michigan… This week: @ Illinois
4. Oregon (4-0): The Ducks finally faced a little resistance in their 42-31 victory at Arizona State. The cupcake portion of the schedule is over as reflected in their defensive play. Luckily for Oregon, it seems not many teams have the kryptonite for their offense… This week: Stanford
5. TCU (4-0): The Horned Frogs weren't sharp at all against SMU. They got their act together in the second half but were nowhere to be found in the first. They don't have many showcase games left so Andy Dalton and company will need to start picking up some style points… This week: @ Colorado State
6. Wisconsin (4-0): The Badgers keep flying high as they took out Austin Peay 70-3. As is always the case you have to keep in mind the level of competition, but Wisconsin has been sharp all season. They outgained AP 618-157 in yards, including 346-42 on the ground… This week: @ Michigan State
7. Nebraska (4-0): South Dakota State was never going to beat the 'Huskers, but Taylor Martinez's 3 turnovers made the score (17-3) a WHOLE lot closer than it needed to be. Overall I believe Nebraska is talented enough to contend for the Big 12 title, but the offense needs to get its act together… This week: Bye
8. Florida (4-0): Freshman Trey Burton was a one-man show in the Gators 48-14 bashing of Kentucky. Burton broke Tim Tebow's record by totaling 6 touchdowns on the day which helped Urban Meyer pick up his 100th career victory in blue and orange… This week: @ Alabama
9. Stanford (4-0): Owen Marecic is one of the only two-way players in the country, and he proved his worth against Notre Dame by scoring back-to-back touchdowns in the 4th quarter -- one on a rushing score and the other on a pick-6. You have to take the Cardinal serious, especially with Andrew Luck on their side… This week: @ Oregon
10. Oklahoma (4-0): The Sooners let down at times on defense against Cincinnati, but Landry Jones and Ryan Broyles (7th straight game with 100+ receiving yards) bailed them out. Oklahoma as a whole has been up and down all season. You never know what you're going to get with them… This week: Texas
