Casey's Call: College Football -- Tuesday's Top 10

1. Boise State (7-0): You know you're good when you play your "D-" game and still win by 29 points. That was the margin of the Broncos win over Louisiana Tech last Tuesday. Get on the weak schedule all you want, but I don't care who they play – this team is for real… This week: Hawaii
2. Oregon (8-0): The Ducks were very impressive in their 53-32 victory at USC. After trailing the Trojans by 3 in the third quarter, Oregon scored 24 unanswered points on route to a dominant win. We know what RB LaMichael James is capable of, but the key is for QB Darron Thomas to keep progressing the way he has been… This week: Washington
3. Auburn (9-0): Despite the conference being down this year, a 9-0 (6-0) SEC team is nothing to sneeze at. Their big test will come November 26th at Alabama – that's when we will separate the men from the boys. The Tigers defense will have to improve by then if they hope to knock off the Tide… This week: Chattanooga
4. Alabama (7-1): 'Bama had the weekend off, and that's a good thing for Nick Saban and company. They still have the National Championship in mind and know they have to run the table and be impressive in doing so if they hope to get to the title game. As expected, the schedule gets real tough – starting on Saturday… This week: @ LSU
5. Wisconsin (7-1): The Badgers had Saturday off as well, and it was a productive weekend because Michigan State lost. Now all of a sudden, Wisconsin has a decent shot to win the Big 10 if things fall their way. They have to avoid falling into a trap this weekend… This week: @ Purdue
6. TCU (9-0): The Horned Frogs are in great shape in the BCS polls, but despite what the computers say they are not better than the five teams listed above. We'll learn a whole lot more about this club come Saturday when they travel to Utah to take on the mighty Utes… This week: @ Utah
7. Utah (7-0): If you read my preview on Friday you knew Utah was in for a struggle against Air Force on Saturday. Sure enough, it was a tight game but the Utes came out on top. A wake up call like that can do wonders – especially with their monstrous showdown against TCU looming… This week: TCU
8. Stanford (7-1): The Cardinal were very impressive in their 41-0 shutout of Washington on Saturday. Quarterback Andrew Luck continues to dominate and the defense has improved. They won't be winning the Pac 10, but they certainly have a shot at a BCS at-large bid… This week: Arizona
9. Ohio State (8-1): The Buckeyes put on another dominant display in their 52-10 romping at Minnesota. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor continues to play at a high level and you can count on Jim Tressel's defense just about every week. They're still alive and well for the Big 10 title… This week: Bye
10. Nebraska (7-1): The Cornhuskers dispelled the myth of the Missouri Tigers on Saturday. After Mizzou's victory over Oklahoma, everybody wondered if they were for real – but Nebraska proved that they still have a ways to go. The 'Huskers are extremely talented. They just need to play with consistent effort and focus week in and week out… This week: @ Iowa State
