Canadian Actress Accused Of Stalking Alec Baldwin Heading To Trial
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Canadian actress accused of stalking actor Alec Baldwin appeared in court Wednesday.
Genevieve Sabourin was arrested in April 2012, nearly a week after Baldwin became engaged to yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas.
As WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported, Sabourin seems to thrive on the drama of it all and is more than happy to pose for news photographers at her court appearances.
Within the first few minutes of her court appearance, Sabourin had the judge, a court officer and her own attorney yelling at her to sit down and stop interrupting, Cornell reported.
Baldwin accused Sabourin of showing up at his Manhattan apartment, sending him love-struck e-mails and asking him to marry her.

She has complained to the judge that she's homeless and going broke from repeated trips to court from Canada.
But Sabourin has refused offers to settle out of court and avoid jail time, calling it all a "misunderstanding."
Instead, she's insisting on a trial that will bring her face-to-face with her celebrity accuser, Cornell reported.
Sabourin and Baldwin met on the set of the 2002 film, "The Adventures of Pluto Nash."
Baldwin and Thomas tied the knot in July at St. Patrick's Cathedral. His wife recently gave birth to the couple's first daughter.
