Burglaries Have Franklin Lakes Residents On Edge
FRANKLIN LAKES (WCBS 880) - A band of burglars is on the loose in northwestern Bergen County, New Jersey.
Burglars periodically target Franklin Lakes because it has very nice homes and an easy getaway on Route 208, but they typically strike when no one is at home, WCBS 880's Sean Adam reports.
Things are different this time.
These thieves have been creeping into darkened homes in the wee hours as people sleep.
They struck three times on Monday, just down the street from Paul's house.
"I have an alarm and I have a really large pit bull, so it helps. I mean... just knowing we're off the exit, easy access...," says Paul.
Paul says it's unsettling.
The burglars have been slipping in through open windows and doors and, in one case, they used a garage door opener from an unlocked car, reports The Record.
They've also been striking in Wyckoff.
