Buffalo Restaurant Promo Starts At Shooting Scene
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Buffalo-area restaurant owners have kicked off Western New York Restaurant Week by holding a news conference at the downtown eatery where four people were fatally shot last summer.
Organizers said they held the ceremonial start of Restaurant Week at the City Grill on Monday as a show of support for owner Scott Rossi.
Gunfire erupted outside the City Grill early on the morning of Aug. 14, leaving four people dead and four wounded. A 23-year-old man has been charged with murder and attempted murder.
Rossi spoke publicly Monday for the first time since the crime, but refused to comment on the shooting.
During Restaurant Week, more than 180 participating restaurants are offering meals for $$20.10. The promotion runs through Sunday.
