BRUSSELS (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Belgian mayor said the third suspect in the Brussels terror attack at the airport "panicked" when his bomb didn't go off.
Zaventem Mayor Francis Vermeiren told AFP said the bomb being carried by the third man did not explode.
"They put their suitcases on trolleys, the first two bombs exploded. The third also put his on a trolley, but he must have panicked, it didn't explode," Vermeiren told AFP.
The mayor added that the men had the bombs in their bags.
"They came in a taxi with their suitcases, their bombs were in their bags," Vermeiren said.

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has claimed responsibility for the terror attacks at the Brussels Airport at Zaventem and the City's Maelbeek metro station, which is near the U.S. Embassy and European Union Headquarters. More than 30 people were killed, and 214 were wounded.
Belgian prosecutors said a nail bomb, chemicals and an ISIS flag was found in during a search Tuesday.
Florence Muls, a spokeswoman for the Brussels Airport, said a third bomb was neutralized at the airport. Two sources also confirmed to CBS News that a Kalashnikov assault rifle was found in the terminal.
So far, three men have been identified as possible suspects in the airport bombing. Authorities in Belgium said two men in a photo issued by police were "probably' suicide bombers while a third is being sought.
Federal police have issued a wanted notice for a man seen wearing a thick light-colored jacket with a black hat and glasses. They are urging the public to call them if they recognize the man.
