Girl, 17, On Life Support After Brooklyn Beating; 1 Suspect Charged
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A teenage girl from Brooklyn was on life support Tuesday night after being viciously beaten, and calls for justice were mounting.
TaJae Warner, 17, was brain dead Tuesday night, after what police said was a violent confrontation on West 24th Street in Coney Island, Brooklyn.
Sources said Warner might have fallen and hit her head during the fight this past Saturday night.
Sabrina Agard-Ford, 18, of Brooklyn, has been charged with attempted murder and assault in the incident, police said. Warner and Agard-Ford knew each other, police said.
Friends and community leaders who gathered Tuesday night to pay tribute to the teenager said others were involved and should also be arrested.
"It feels like one of our children was snatched away from us, because she is just a young child," family friend Lisette Pizarro told CBS2's Lou Young.
"This is murder," added community activist Tony Herbert. "I mean clearly, they stomped that girl out with no remorse."
Warner is a sophomore at William Grady High School.
