Search On For Suspect Who Robbed, Beat 66-Year-Old Man On M Train In Brooklyn
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Sunday were searching for an assailant who knocked down, beat and robbed a 66-year-old man on an M Train in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
Around midnight Saturday night, the victim was on a Manhattan-bound M Train at the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues station when the suspect came up and knocked him to the floor, police said.
The suspect then kicked and punched the man before taking his wallet and cellphone, police said. Among the items in the man's wallet were a credit card and $20 in cash, police said.
The man suffered cuts to his face and a broken rib, and was taken to an area hospital in serious, but stable condition, police said.
The suspect was described as a black male between 20 and 25 years old, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, blue jeans and black and gray sneakers.
