Police: Suspect Sought In Violent Brooklyn Sex Attack

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect who is wanted in connection with a violent sex attack in Brooklyn.

It happened around 5 a.m. on June 14 in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Police said a man followed a 24-year-old woman into the lobby of her building at Tompkins Avenue and Hart Street. That's when he punched her, hit her head against the wall and raped her, police said.

He then chased her into her apartment and fled, police said.

The victim was taken to the hospital where she was treated for bruises on her face and body.

The suspect was seen on surveillance video. Police describe him as a black man between the ages of 25 and 35, about 5'9" and weighing 150 pounds. He was seen wearing jeans and black baseball hat.
