Brooklyn Residents Concerned With Uptick In Gun Violence As Stop And Frisks All But Disappear
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Stop and frisks are down dramatically in two of New York City's toughest police precincts, but gun violence is on the rise.
As WCBS 880's Monica Miller reported, police in East New York and Brownsville have basically done away with the controversial and polarizing police tactic in the first half of 2014.

According to the New York Daily News, the 74th and 75th Precincts have recorded a 99 percent drop in stop and frisks.
However, Brownsville resident Kim told Miller she hasn't noticed a change in police behavior.
"Not really. Not really. They target who they want to target," she said.
Kim said she's concerned about a 40 percent spike in shootings the neighborhood has seen compared to last year, Miller reported.
"Yeah. It did. Since the summer began it went up," she said.
Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said the NYPD would study whether there is a connection between the decline in stop and frisks and the increase in gun violence across New York City.
