NYPD: Man Robbed 5 Banks In Brooklyn, Queens Since 2012
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man wanted in connection with five bank robberies in Queens and Brooklyn.
The suspect first struck in Maspeth, Queens, on the morning of Aug. 4, 2012. He walked into the Amalgamated Bank located at 69-73 Grand Ave., demanded money from the teller at gunpoint and ran off with cash, police said.
He allegedly held up the same bank eight months later and again in October 2014.
The suspect is also believed to be responsible for robbing a Sovereign Bank on 13th Avenue in Borough Park, Brooklyn, on July 19, 2013, according to police.
The most recent robbery occurred Wednesday afternoon at the Cross County Bank on Eliot Avenue in Middle Village, Queens, police said. The NYPD has released surveillance pictures of the suspect from that incident.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
The suspect is a white male 38 to 48 years old, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and 280 to 300 pounds, police said.
