Brooklyn Man Faces Number Of Charges For Fatal Drunk Driving Crash
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A Brooklyn man has been charged for a drunk driving crash that left a pedestrian dead.
According to police, Steven Calandrillo, 25, was arrested on charges of manslaughter, attempted vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, DWI, speeding and DWAI-alcohol after slamming his car into a woman standing on the sidewalk at the corner of Shore Parkway and Bragg Street in Sheepshead Bay around 2 a.m. on Saturday.
Karin Eberts-Ayub, 53, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police said after Calandrillo's Ford Fusion struck the woman, his car then struck a tree. He was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
