Brooklyn Man Accused Of Killing Woman Involved In Alleged Check Cashing Scam
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Brooklyn man has been charged with killing a woman so that she wouldn't tell police about his alleged phony check cashing scam.
As WCBS 880's Irene Cornell reported, it's a case that began as a bank fraud scheme and moved to murder.

Naquan Reyes, 29, was first accused of creating counterfeit checks and recruiting others to deposit them in their accounts, then withdraw the cash before the banks caught on.
Nicole Thompson was allegedly one of his recruited check cashers when she was arrested and decided to cooperate with authorities in the case. Although, she never go the chance.
Thompson's body was discovered in a dumpster in Landover, Md. eight days after her arrest.
Reyes is now charged with murder, accused of killing her to protect his flow of ill gotten gains.
