Brooklyn Honors Woman Killed Two Years Ago
NEW YORK (CBS 2) – Brooklyn community members on Saturday honored a woman killed in a senseless death two years ago.
In 2008, 27-year-old Nancy "Penny" Williams was killed by a stray bullet as she stood in a playground in Bedford Stuyvesant.
Community activists are demanding justice in the case as they remembered Williams as an incredibly giving woman.
"A story I just heard that she would cook food and take it out to the homeless people," Tony Herbert said. "Why do we take a life like that? At the end of the day, somebody's going to jail and that's what we're here to say. We're not going to forget."
The shooter was never caught. Speakers appealed to anyone with information on Williams' killing to come forward.
