NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An elderly woman was injured on a Brooklyn street Wednesday as shots flew nearby.
Shots were fired just before 11:30 a.m. on Troy Avenue in East Flatbush, police said. The shooters were apparently firing at each other from passing vehicles.
Police said the 91-year-old woman was startled by the gunfire and fell to the ground, hitting her heard on the steps of her home.
One witness who spoke to CBS2 did not want to show his face.
"She was cleaning her porch and she heard gunshots, and she ducked her head," the witness said.
"We see an engine running off, and then we see police cars coming down both sides of the street," said another witness Junior Outar.
No one else was injured in the incident.
