Police: 82-Year-Old Brooklyn Woman Raped During Home Invasion
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man who raped an 82-year-old woman in Brooklyn is on the loose.
Surveillance footage shows the man lurking in front of the woman's Brighton Beach home around 1:40 a.m. Monday.
Police say that while the woman was outside sweeping the street, the man went through her unlocked house and hid in her bedroom
When she came back inside, he demanded money at knifepoint, but the woman didn't have any money, police said.

Fearing he would hurt her, she offered to cook for him, police sources said. He then tied her hands behind her back, leaned her over the bed and ransacked a dresser, police sources said.
After staying inside the home for nearly four hours, he raped her, police said.
According to investigators, the perpetrator felt bad after the fact and apparently brought the victim water and her medical alert button, CBS2's Ilana Gold reported.
He then told her not to call 911 and took off, stealing an umbrella and a Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center tote bag with the woman's dead husband's clothes, sources said.
The woman did not want to report the assault but later told her son-in-law. She was taken to Kings County Hospital for evaluation.
The attack left many of the woman's neighbors on edge.
"It's very bad what happened," said neighbor David Pasechnik. "On this street, it's very bad."
"She was a frail lady," said neighbor Humberto Carre. "She couldn't fight anybody."
Police have released a surveillance video of the suspect.
He is described by police as a black man, between the ages of 20 and 30, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has an Afro and a light beard. Police say the man might live in the area.
He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt with unknown writing on the front, gray sweatpants and Converse sneakers with white laces.
"That is an incredible heinous crime, something that no society, no city can tolerate," police Commissioner Bill Bratton told reporters, including WCBS 880's Rich Lamb.
"What that woman suffered and endured nobody should have to suffer and endure at any time, anywhere," he added.
