Brooklyn Cyclones Open New Post-Sandy Chapter
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Brooklyn Cyclones have begun a new chapter on a new turf field on Coney Island, in a major symbol of revival from Hurricane Sandy.
As 1010 WINS' Al Jones reported Tuesday, the Mets' Single-A affiliate has installed cutting-edge FieldTurf, which "has the look and feel of traditional sod, but is optimally designed for durability and severe weather," according to the team's official website.

Sandy ruined the grass at MCU Park.
And maybe it is no surprise that the home park of a baseball team called the Cyclones would get swamped by a hurricane, but "Rick" said it was nice to see that the park, like parts of Coney Island, has made a comeback.
"It's fitting that they've ... thank goodness they weren't where they were, it just seems like a few months ago," he said.
Artificial turf has replaced the grass, and "Scott" is still just plunking down $10 for his seat.
"I like watching the baseball games, because they're cheaper than going to Shea, to Citi Field," he said.
And it is not just the ballpark.
"Nathan's looks nice, too," Scott said.
The Cyclones lost their home opener Monday night to the Staten Island Yankees 2-1.
