The site has so far raised $25,000 for medical expenses and daycare, enfolding the couple in an embrace of love and support, so they can focus on healing.
"We started getting calls from strangers that heard about this and want to help out; it's just amazing that this type of situation has brought out so much good will," relative Loren Weiner said.
The couple has been taking it "day by day" and are appreciative of all of the support they have received, Weiner said.
"It's so difficult to ever think about preparing for something like this and they're doing an amazing job," Weiner said. "Their child is everything to them, more than anything else in the world their child is their motivation."
In an e-mail, Elisa Bond said, "We are at the very beginning of this journey; a journey we pray we will travel with grace and one we are grateful to be traveling with the support and love our family, friends and even kind strangers."
