Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz Looks Back On 3 Terms In Office
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz is reflecting on his 12 years in office as he's been forced out of the job by term limits.
As WCBS 880's Marla Diamond reported, Markowitz has watched his borough become a brand over his three terms.
Markowitz said he's going to miss the only job he said he's ever really wanted.

"To me, part of being an elected official is cheerleading, it's putting a smile on the faces of those you serve," said Markowitz. "What I try to do in my humor and being somewhat light-hearted was to bring people together, make them feel better about who they are and where they live."
Markowitz said Barclays Center has been a boon to the borough.
"I'm thrilled that that happened as a result of my nudging Bruce Ratner who's a real visionary," he told Diamond.
Markowitz said even though he's leaving office, he has no plans to leave the borough - ever.
"In fact, I can say with confidence in no less than 98 years from now that I will be in Brooklyn forever because my final landlord is Greenwood [Cemetery]," said Markowitz.
State Sen. Eric Adams will take over as borough president in the new year.
