Bronx Zoo's Monkey House Closed Indefinitely
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- After 111 years, the Bronx Zoo has closed its Monkey House indefinitely.
Wildlife Conservation Society officials say exhibits are evaluated on a regular basis. They tell the Daily News they will plan for a new exhibit in the future.

A sign on the doors of the historic building says monkeys can be seen at its World of Birds, Congo Gorilla Forest and Jungle World.
The Monkey House opened in 1901. The structure closed in 1950 after the opening of the now-defunct Great Apes House. It reopened in 1958, and in the late 1980s it was renovated to include habitat-themed exhibits.
