Woman Found Dead In Bronx Apartment On 30th Birthday; Man Charged
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A suspect has been charged in the death of a woman found dead inside her Bronx apartment on her 30th birthday.
Around 7:15 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a 911 call about an assault in progress inside an apartment on Brook Avenue in the Morrisania section of the borough, the NYPD said.
When officers arrived, police said they found Erica Wilson unconscious and unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbors told Gold the victim's mother and sister found Wilson with head trauma.
Late Friday, Jeremy Wilson of Harlem was charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon. Police earlier had said that Erica Wilson's brother was being questioned in the incident.
