Police: Man Armed With Scissors Robs Subway Rider In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect who they said robbed a man with a pair of scissors while riding the subway in the Bronx.
It happened back on July 7 on board a southbound 6 train.
As the train entered the East 143rd Street station, police said the suspect walked in from another train car and approached a 31-year-old man. He then pulled out a pair of scissors and demanded the victim's property, police said.
The victim handed over his cell phone and $20. When the train arrived at the station, the suspect walked off and fled in an unknown direction.
Police describe the suspect as a black man between the ages of 40 and 45, about 6-feet-tall and 230 pounds. He was seen wearing a camouflage bucket hat, a multi-colored hooded shirt, gray shorts, black socks and black sneakers.
