Boy, 6, Slashed In Face In Bronx Mosque, Police Say
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 6-year-old boy was slashed in the forehead at a Bronx mosque Sunday, police said.
The slashing happened earlier Sunday at the Masjid Salaam at Longwood Avenue and Hewitt Place, police said.
A witness told the New York Post that men who were fighting in the street spilled into the mosque, and one of them had a knife that cut the boy.
The boy was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln with minor injuries, police said.
Police said the suspect is a 30-year-old man.
The search continued for the suspect late Sunday.
