Bronx Man Gets 60 Years For Sexually Assaulting Prostitutes
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A 47-year-old Bronx man accused of sexually attacking three prostitutes has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.
James Schlau was sentenced Tuesday after being convicted last month of rape and other charges.
He is a registered sex offender after being locked up for a violent sexual assault on a woman in Minnesota.
During the trial, his 23-year-old accuser said Schlau pulled out a razor after he picked her up on June 16, 2010. She testified that after she was forced to perform oral sex, Schlau punched her in the face and tried to have sex with her.
Prosecutors said Schlau also sexually assaulted two other prostitutes last year.
Schlau was arrested after prostitutes reported the attacks.
His lawyer said Schlau frequented prostitutes but never raped them.
