NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A New York City man is accused of beating his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter to death.
Edgar Algarin of the Bronx was charged with murder and manslaughter on Monday. Police say the child was left in his care.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the city medical examiner declared the death a homicide. An autopsy found that Enidaliz Ortiz-Encarnacion had suffered multiple injuries and died of blunt impact trauma to her torso and compression of her neck.
