Bronx Fire Destroys 7 Businesses
BRONX, N.Y. (CBS 2/1010 WINS/AP) -- A six-alarm fire ripped through a row of businesses in the Bronx Thursday morning.
The FDNY says firefighters fought the blaze for nearly six hours before bringing it under control around 6 a.m. Thursday.
It says 12 firefighters suffered injuries, one considered serious, but none were life-threatening.
The fire broke out at 12:23 a.m. at a record store on White Plains Road and quickly spread to six other businesses on the commercial strip.
Subway service in the area was suspended during the blaze.
