Police Release Sketch Of Suspect In Attempted Rape Of 8-Year-Old Girl In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Friday released a sketch of a man wanted in the assault of an 8-year-old girl as she was entering an apartment building in the Bronx.
The man approached the girl this past Saturday at around 5:30 p.m. in the 46th Precinct, which includes the Fordham Heights, University Heights, Morris Heights and Mount Hope areas. According to police, the man forcibly restrained the girl before touching her inappropriately.
The suspect fled after the girl began screaming. The girl was taken to a local hospital where she was treated, and later released, police said.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 165 pounds, with a light skin complexion, clean-shaven, and wearing a dark fitted baseball cap, a gray hooded sweat shirt, a red T-shirt, ripped light jeans, and gray sneakers, police said.
Police previously released surveillance video.
