Broken Rail Shuts Down C Train Line For Evening Rush
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- C line subway service was completely shut down in both directions during the Monday evening rush, due to a broken rail in Brooklyn.
The line was shut down because of the broken rail at the Fulton Street station in Brooklyn, CBS 2 reported.
Normal service had resumed by the mid-evening hours.
The closure affected the entire line, from 168th Street in Washington Heights to Euclid Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn.
Because of the incident, southbound A trains were also affected. They are running on the F line between West 4th Street in Manhattan and Jay Street-Metrotech in Brooklyn, making a turn to stop at Broadway-Lafayette Street instead of proceeding south to Canal Street.
Normal service also has resumed on the A train.
