Broadway Theaters Dim Lights To Honor Late Actor Sidney Poitier
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Broadway paid tribute to actor Sidney Poitier on Wednesday night.
The marquees on Broadway theaters were dimmed for a full minute to honor Poitier, who passed away on Jan. 6 at the age of 94.
Poitier was a trailblazing actor who paved the way on Broadway for other people of color.
He started his acting career in New York City and was nominated for a Tony Award in 1960 for "A Raisin in the Sun."
