BRIDGEPORT, CONN. (CBSNewYork) -- The City of Bridgeport will wait at least a year before taking on a medical marijuana dispensary.

All systems were go for setting up the dispensary in Bridgeport until the city's zoning commission put a hold on it.
The move came after many homeowners in the area raised concerns about property values.
Finch also questioned possible risks associated with having a medical marijuana dispensary.
"We would like to see some of the other communities take on facilities like this. We are not sure there is a risk, but the uncertainty of this new untried type of facility should be tried somewhere else," the mayor said.
Finch added that setting up a dispensary in Bridgeport amounts to experimenting in a city where a most vulnerable population resides, Schneidau reported.
