Brandon Jacobs: Giants Doubters Can Go Back To 'Their Miserable Lives'
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Brandon Jacobs has been uncharacteristically quiet this season.
All that changed on Thursday.
What set off the Giants' outspoken-again running back? Doubters. Unbelievers.
"The people outside that want to say they're fans and don't believe in us, I couldn't care less if they ever believed in us," Jacobs said after practice yesterday.
Then Jacobs took a page right out of LeBron James' playbook.
"They don't mean anything to us if they didn't believe in us," said Jacobs. "They can go back and finish living their miserable lives as they've been living and hoping that they lose and whatever."
After Miami's ouster from the NBA Finals in June, James infamously said: "All the people that were rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today."
Sound familiar? Plaxico Burress was quoted with a similar sentiment in the October issue of Men's Journal.
"What are you doing now?" Burress railed against those who took pleasure in his incarceration on a gun charge. "You still mad at your job? You still angry about your life? 'Cause I'm back living my life and enjoying my family while you're still doing the same thing."
The Giants will take their show on the road to take on the Cardinals Sunday. Despite their overwhelming injuries, New York has the momentum after their Week 3 win over the Eagles.
"In this locker room, guys are ready to play," said Jacobs. "The only thing that matters is the people that's on this football team and in this organization."
