Sorry, Craig: Boomer Lands Jennie Finch For NL All-Star Celebrity Team
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Retired U.S. softball star Jennie Finch says she's National League through and through.
Try as he might, American League co-captain Craig Carton couldn't convince Finch -- a die-hard Dodgers fan -- to switch allegiances for Sunday's Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game at Citi Field.
"It's my I think fifth year playing in this, and I've been National League all the way," Finch said Wednesday on WFAN's "Boomer & Carton" show.

Carton will co-captain the AL team with Yankees great Bernie Williams. His co-host on WFAN, Boomer Esiason, will lead the NL squad with Mets reliever John Franco.
Boomer, happy with Finch on board, agreed to let Carton have recording artist Ashanti.
Actors Chris Rock, Kevin James and George Lopez have all signed on for the game, along with MLB alums Mike Piazza, Rickey Henderson, Dwight Gooden, Darryl Strawberry, Andre Dawson, Rollie Fingers, Fred Lynn, Ozzie Smith and Frank Thomas. Carton said the lineups would be unveiled by Friday.
"Here's the thing, Jennie: I'm coming to win," Boomer said. "I expect high cheese, and no backing down from any of these guys -- especially my radio partner, OK?"
The NL starter wasn't fazed by Boomer's tough talk.
"The moment I've been waiting for," Finch said. "I got the green light to go with my fastball."
