Boomer & Carton To Take On NYPD In Celebrity Softball Game Saturday
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- Celebs, softball and a great cause. Is there a better combination?
Come on out to Con-Ed Field in Manhattan (16th St. & Ave. C) on Saturday to watch the NYPD First Precinct take on a celebrity team led by our very own Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton.
The game is scheduled for 5 p.m., with gates opening one hour prior. Admission is $20, benefiting the PBA Widows and Children's Fund. BBQ and drinks are included, and children under 10 are free.
"The goal is to raise over $10,000," Carton said Friday.
As for the celebs, Boomer said that Jets coach Rex Ryan was a late addition and will be bringing defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman with him. Also playing, according to the WFAN co-hosts: former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum, ex-Jet Bart Scott (can't wait!), and American Idol alum Constantine Maroulis.
"I can't play him at shortstop," Carton said of Ryan. "He's got no range."
