Jerry Recco got after it this morning while delivering his first update, beginning with the Red Sox's Game 6 triumph over the Cardinals to win their third World Series in the last 10 years. It was their eighth World Series title overall, which was news to Craigie.
John Lackey got the win and afterward talked about the special atmosphere at Fenway Park, while David Ortiz (pictured awkwardly embracing MLB Commissioner Bud Selig) was awarded the MVP Award after batting a gaudy .688 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs - so I guess you could say he earned it. We were also treated to a well-thought-out discussion on home field advantage and momentum. Riveting stuff.
Plus, the Knicks hang on to beat the Bucks despite a sloppy second half, the new-look Nets get out to an early lead before falling to the Cavs in Cleveland, the Heat got throttled by rookie Michael Carter Williams and the Sixers. The Jets will be headed to New Orleans a little light in the tight-end department and without the services of Santonio Holmes when they take on the Saints and the Rangers will host the Sabres tonight at the transformed MSG...
