"It's a week of exciting music and art events in all five boroughs, the first of its kind ever held in our city," Bloomberg told reporters on Monday. "In an era where the public hospitals clearly have to find alternative ways to raise the funds they need, this is one of the things we are trying to do."
Salsa superstar India, The Temptations, Pastor John P. Kee, Valerie Boyd, Don Byron, Garland Jeffreys, and Charanga Soleil will be among the performers for the series of events called STAT!
Tickets range from $15 to $55. The money will go to buy new medical gear and to upgrade technology for hospitals that are part of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC).
STAT! will run from Dec. 5 - 12.
