Bloomberg: 9/11 National Memorial On Schedule For Anniversary
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – As the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approaches, 9/11 National Memorial chairman Mayor Bloomberg said construction is moving along exactly as anticipated.
"We are on schedule, on budget. We're going to have a great ceremony. It'll be very moving, which will remind the country of what happened to us on this very site 10 years ago this Sept. 11, and I hope be a lesson that we should never forget that our freedoms are fragile and that people want to take things away from us," Bloomberg said.

Bloomberg said the other lesson that everyone should learn is that New Yorkers and Americans don't quit.
Larry Silverstein, the developer of the property, said that One World Trade Center is up to the 64th floor and Four World Trade Center is up to the 20th floor.
"You'll see that construction is actually moving forward with steel rising on tower two with the foundations in place for tower three, workers starting on the PATH terminal," Silverstein said.
Bloomberg, meanwhile, said that the city's ring of steel will protect all of Lower Manhattan.
"This is probably as safe as you can ever be and we continue unabated in our effort to make sure that terrorists understand the likelihood of them getting through our net is not great," Bloomberg said. "Nobody can guarantee 100 percent."
Still, he added that New Yorkers have to constantly be on guard.
