Family Of Library Stabbing Victim Comes Face To Face With Accused Killer In Court
NEW CITY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - The brother of a slain library security guard says he felt a rush of pain and anger in court Thursday morning.
He was there as the homeless man accused in the shocking stabbing death appeared before a Rockland County judge.
Blanchard Glaudin, 25, said little but paid close attention at his arraignment, reported CBS2's Tony Aiello. Glaudin is accused of fatally stabbing beloved library security guard Sandra Wilson Feb. 18 after she asked him to turn down the volume of music he was playing on his smartphone.

Sandra Wilson was laid to rest just three days ago. Thursday was the first opportunity for her family members to come face-to-face with the man accused of killing her.
"Brought a lot of pain and anger back," said Sandra's brother Ronnie Wilson.
During court, Ronnie sat next to his sister Rhonda. SHe grew upset during the hearing and he consoled her.
Seeing the suspect was difficult.
"I want to be compassionate but I was very angry and just thinking like, you know, how could he take the life away of a mother, did nothing, doing her job in a public library," Ronnie said.
The family is staying patient as the DA, who took office in January, probes why Glaudin was released on a December attempted rape charge. It appears the prior prosecutor may have failed to indict or hold a preliminary hearing in the allotted time, Aiello reported.
"There's some question as to who did what and what could have been done to save a life that wasn't done. It's hard. It's definitely hard for the family," said Wilson family attorney L'Tanya Watkins.
"We believe the public has a right to know about the events that took place in this particular case and of course as expeditiously as possible," said Rockland County DA Thomas Walsh.
Walsh told Aiello he hopes to have answers next week.
GLaudin will be held in jail as he undergoes a psychiatric review.
