Teens Attack Victims From Behind In Nearly Identical Brooklyn Cell Phone Robberies
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a group of teens involved in a pair of incidents in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn.
Shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 11, a 35-year-old man was walking near Willoughby Avenue and Ryerson Street, when he was attacked from behind by a group of teens. He was struck on the back of the head, and in the face causing bruising, swelling, and a laceration.
The suspects grabbed the victim's phone, and took off.
Less than an hour later a 28-year-old man was walking near Washington and Willoughby avenues, when he was attacked from behind, and kicked in the face, elbow, and leg. He suffered swelling, bruising, and a laceration.
The suspects took off with the victim's cell phone in this incident as well.
All five suspects have been described as black males between 12 and 15 years old.
Surveillance video was obtained from the Willoughby Towers.
