Billy Crystal To Treat Long Beach Residents To Private Screening Of His New Comedy
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Long Beach native Billy Crystal is giving back to his hometown which is still recovering after being slammed by Superstorm Sandy.
The Emmy and Tony Award winner announced he will host multiple private screenings of his upcoming comedy "Parental Guidance" next Monday at the UA Theater in Lynbrook.
The 64-year-old comedian plans to bus residents to the nearby theater.
Crystal, who lives in California, told Newsday, "You can mend buildings, but rebuilding people's confidence and their mood, and putting a smile on their face is what I do. Hopefully I can lift their spirits."
Crystal said he will greet everybody who attends the screenings.
"Parental Guidance," which stars Crystal and Bette Midler, officially opens Christmas Day.
