NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- It doesn't get much uglier than this.
In fact, it may not get any uglier than this.
On Thursday night against the Lions, Bills quarterback Matt Simms made one of the worst plays you will ever see.
The Franklin Lakes, New Jersey native scrambled to get away from a pass rusher. Instead of taking the sack or throwing the ball away, Simms flung the ball about 15 feet ... backwards.
Seriously.

The son of Giants legend Phil Simms and brother of WFAN host Chris Simms is trying to make Buffalo's roster. Matt played the entire game under center for the Bills in their preseason finale. Aside from that disastrous play he was impressive, completing 22 of 38 passes for 223 yards.
Matt Simms was with the Jets from 2012-14. He was released by New York on May 28 and was claimed on waivers the next day by Buffalo, reuniting him with former head coach Rex Ryan.
