Bicycle Sundays Returns, Part Of Bronx River Parkway Closed
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) – Part of the Bronx River Parkway will now be closed on Sundays for cyclists until the end of summer.
Bicycle Sundays returned today and part of the Parkway will be closed from the County Center in White Plains to just south of Scarsdale Road in Yonkers, parks department's Peter Tartaglia said.
"We've been doing this, I believe, since 1974, and it is a staple of what we do in Westchester County parks," he said.

The road is just open to cyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters and strollers for almost every Sunday until the end of September.
The 13.1-mile round trip allows outdoor fans to have the run of both the southbound and northbound lanes, he said.
"With the weather breaking as it has been, you got to do it," he said. "It's just a wonderful way to see the lay of the land in a different way."
