The 88th Academy Awards are just around the corner! Moviegoers can celebrate by sipping on cocktails inspired by this year's nominated films. Here are some of our favorites in New York City. By Carly Petrone.

Toast to Tinsel Town over at The Skylark and sip on your choice of Oscar-inspired cocktails. This season, mixologist Johnny Swet is mixing up three types of drinks to celebrate another year of great films. Sip on the Lady Furiosa (inspired by Mad Max: Fury Road), the Sweet Revenge (inspired by The Revenant), or the Golden Boy from this sophisticated rooftop lounge. If tequila is your liqueur of choice, The Lady Furiosa is for you – Don Julio Reposado Tequila, Ancho Reyes Chili Liquor, Grilled Tomatillo Wedges, Lime, Cilantro, Agave, and Chili Salt. If you're more of a Leo lover than order the Sweet Revenge – Rye Whiskey, Maple Syrup, Peychaud's Bitters, Absinth, and a twist of lemon. Finally the Golden Boy is perfect for those looking for something fruity and refreshing – Crop Cucumber Vodka, St. Germain, Turmeric, Lemon Juice, Green Grapes, Ginger Ale, and a Lemon Twist. Bar Manager Kenneth Vanhooser has created two Oscar-themed cocktails for the occasion so get ready to celebrate. This brand new independent movie theater, bar, and restaurant will be airing all of the red carpet coverage as well as the Oscars live starting at 7 p.m. Sip on your choice of two drinks that any Hollywood-type would adore. The Black Tie Optional is a play on the classic Gibson cocktail with Bombay White Label gin and Dolin dry vermouth, shaken, and served in a martini glass (garnished with a white cocktail onion and back olive). Those who enjoy cognac will be happy to try And The Winner Is - Remy Martin 1738 Accord Royal, bitters, a splash of Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, topped with Prosecco. Shawn Chen will be busy stirring up the White Tuxedo, a strong cocktail made of Brooklyn Gin, Lillet Blanc, Luxardo Maraschino, and Domaine de Canton. After pouring these ingredients into a mixing glass and adding ice, he'll stir vigorously and then strain over coup glasses – a perfect cocktail for all movie fans to enjoy. Bottoms up!
