The Oradell-based Bergen Catholic Crusaders will be hosting Ramsey-based Don Bosco's Ironmen on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Overpeck Park in Palisades Park.
Up to 10,000 people are expected to fill the stands.
"We're taking advantage of having two nationally recognized high school football programs here in Bergen County," said Ron Kistner, director of parks and recreation for Bergen County.
"Very big. Very very excited," said Brian McAleer, Don Bosco's athletic director. "Students paint their faces, they you know, they wear their Ironmen attire."
The game will be taking place during the county fair at Overpeck.
"This is the center piece of the whole weekend event," Kistner said. "Both teams have great students [and] fan support. They're pretty funny with their comments to the other team in good nature."
"Great opportunity for both schools involved and it's a great opportunity for the fans," McAleer said.
