Bellucci Faces Indictment In Parents' Killing
NEW YORK (AP) -- A man arrested in Israel after his parents were found dead in their Staten Island home will undergo a psychological exam.
Eric Bellucci was to be arraigned Wednesday on first-degree murder and other charges. The Staten Island district attorney's office said the hearing was postponed so he could be evaluated.
Authorities said the defendant fled to Israel in October. He was arrested at the Tel Aviv airport after trying to buy a plane ticket to Beijing.
Bellucci did not enter a plea at his October court appearance, where he also was charged with murder. He was held without bail.
At the time, his attorney, John Kelly, asked that Bellucci be placed on suicide watch as a precaution.
