Bed Bugs Found In Books At Hamden Library
HAMDEN, Conn. (CBSNewYork) - These days, book borrowers may be taking home more than they bargained for from their local library.

Bed bugs were recently discovered in some recently returned books at the central branch of the Hamden Public Library.
The library did announce the all-clear for all three branches.
Charlie Mastroberti of Quest Pest Control in Avon said the critters make their way into books after readers doze off in bed.
"They're opportunistic hitchhikers. They'll get into almost anything once the infestation reaches a certain level," he told WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau.
He said his trusty beagle Ellie tracked the bed bugs at the library.
Once identified, these bed bugs can be gotten rid of, but he says only beagles have the nose to sniff them out.
"The dogs are an excellent tool for locating bed bugs. I mean, we could go into a library and spend hours, if not days, there trying to search for bed bugs and may not come up with anything," he said.
