B&C Show Blog & Audio: You Can Smell It

Bobby Dwyer

We made it through a weekend with no football and lived to tell about it.  For Craig that meant it was time to take a deep breath and get a good whiff of baseball, as Yankees pitchers and catchers report to Tampa, workouts scheduled to begin tomorrow.  Now Craigie is already on record saying the Yanks will not top the Red Sox in the battle for AL East supremacy, but he wasn't going to let that put a damper on his good mood.  As far as the Bombers are concerned, today's hot topic revolved around Joba Chamberlain and what his future role with the team is going to be.  Yanks GM Brian Cashman didn't guarantee a spot on the Opening Day roster for Joba, pointing out the team still has options left on the 25 year olds contract.  Boomer loves the new attitude Cashman has displayed the last two months or so, praising his no nonsense approach.  So there you have it, it's time to turn the page and get ready for some baseball, as B&C get the ball rolling for ya'…

Plus, Boomer gets all wrapped up in the Westminster Dog Show and Jerry provides an update, Craig gets Suzyn Waldman into an 'Empire State of Mind', Boomer has an enemy here at the FAN, Curly Neal and Buckets Blakes stop by to talk about the Globetrotters, professional matchmaker Marni Galison offers some dating tips, Jerry proves that he can laugh at himself during his Moment of the Day and an 'Attention Grabber' who is well put together…

Boomer is genuinely excited for Westminster Dog Show, so before Jerry could get his first update started, we listened to Boomer break it all down and tell us about 'meeting' a Chesapeake lab.  Then Jerry briefly updated us, before Boomer interrupted to test Craig's knowledge of last year's Westminster's winner, with the promise of a financial reward…

Craig was so fired-up about Yankees pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training in Tampa later today that he told the guys he wanted to hear the unofficial theme song for the Bombers, Jay Z and Alicia Key's 'Empire State of Mind'.  When the song began, Craigie morphed into Suzyn Waldman and laughter was abundant…

I think Craig was kidding when he said WFAN's Mets beat reporter Ed Coleman did not like Boomer, but when 'the' Eddie Scozzare chimed in about the Booms being responsible for Eddie losing a gig many years ago, the laughter quickly took a different tone…

The guys welcomed a visit from a basketball legend as Curly Neal made the trip into Manhattan to talk a little about the Harlem Globetrotters, past and present.  Neal, along with Meadowlark Lemon, is one of the most recognizable Globetrotters of all-time and even at the age of 68 he still gives off the vibe that he could still get out there and perform.  Curly brought along current Globetrotter, Buckets Blakes and the two of them shared plenty of good stories about their basketball lives…

With it being Valentine's Day and all, Al booked professional matchmaker, Marni Galison, founder of the website 'Sunday at Noon'.  I must commend Al on a well played booking as not only did the lovely Miss Galison offer a few tips for Yankees fans to score a date, she also promised to help Al out in his ongoing search for love, so stay tuned for that…

For his highly anticipated Moment of the Day, Jerry decided to poke a little fun at himself for a change, as he replayed the guys, specifically Boomer, offering him congratulations on his latest play-by-play venture…
