B&C Show Blog & Audio: Bridge the Gap
Bobby Dwyer
The guys opened up today's Show talking about a lot of things, the impressive guest list put together by Al 'Hughes' Dukes that included Amar'e Stoudemire and Marissa Miller (Helloooo!!!), they also mentioned LeBron James' much anticipated return to Cleveland tonight and how Gisele Bundchen's husband will be the face of UGG's boots fall line, but even with all of that on the table, the guys focus was squarely on the on-going contract negotiations between the Yankees and Derek Jeter. The two sides are reportedly about $40 million apart and now we hear that the Yanks have thrown the ball into Jeter's court, telling his camp to figure out how to bridge the gap and get back to them. Craig is not short for ideas to bridge said gap and used Boomer as a sounding board this morning, outlining his 'Jeter Section' of seats and something called a 'Jeter Surcharge' and Boomer was all ears…

Plus, Adam 'the Bull' Gerstenhaber sits in for Jerry and wishes he'd invited Boomer & Craig to his wedding, Jeter's image – moats – hamsters & gerbils, Craig's in-laws approval, Joe Theismann checks in, Hoodie-Footie snuggle suits for all, Super Model Marissa Miller talks shop, Amar'e Stoudemire calls in while eating his breakfast, 'the Bull' ends the suspense and delivers his Moment of the Day and an 'Attention Grabber' from 'America's Dairyland'…
After calling last night's Columbia-Bucknell game up in Lewisburg, PA last night, the game could be heard 'on the internet', Jerry 'Rello' Recco didn't think he'd feel up to coming to work this morning, so he made arrangements to take the day off. The arrangements included Adam 'the Bull' sitting in for him today and unfortunately for 'the Bull', he got married a couple of months back and failed to extend an invitation to Boomer and Craig and the guys have not forgotten…

With the 'behind closed doors' contract talks between the Yanks and Jeter spilling into the media, Boomer points out that the Captain's image is taking a little bit of a hit. Then the guys talked about the 31,000 square foot home he built in Tampa (with no mortgage by the way) and they wondered if it had a moat. From there they made the logically transition to talking about gerbils, hamsters & ferrets…

Talking a little more about Jeter and his image, the guys recall an incident a while back when two scantily clad ladies made a scene in the lobby of Jeter's penthouse after they were being charged for parking after spending the night at his place. From that we learned that Jeter apparently doesn't validate parking. Craig on the other hand said he would most certainly pay for parking if he were able find a woman who was willing to sleep with him. Boomer reminded Craig that he is married, which promoted Craig to tell us about his in-laws and how they were thrilled when their daughter decided that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Craigie…

Joe Theismann won a Super Bowl for the Washington Redskins back in 1983 and is a member of the College Football HOF after a storied collegiate career at Notre Dame. November 18th marked the 25 year anniversary of when Theismann left the field for the final time as a player, on a stretcher after having his leg broken on a hot from Lawrence Taylor, an injury that obviously changed his life. He talked with B&C about his playing career and the person he was back then, a person Theismann himself did not like. These days he is working as an analyst for the NFL Network and will be calling tonight's Texans-Eagles game…

The nice folks over at Pajamagrams were kind enough to send a few Hoodie-Footies over for the staff, so after Lupus gave it a test run (see below), Boomer and Craig tried theirs on and had a great time doing it…

The guys kept their Hootie-Footies on while talking to their next guest, who just happens to be the one of the hottest chicks on the planet. Marissa Miller (more photos below) has a lot on her plate, she is a spokesperson for the NFL, working with the USO and Harley Davidson campaigning for our troops, she is a Captain Morgan First Mate and did I mention she might be the hottest chick on the entire planet??? Anyway, today she was a guest on the Boomer & Carton Morning Extravaganza and I think the guys really enjoyed talking with her…

Amar'e Stoudemire joined the boys for the first time since joining the Knicks; Amar'e of course spent the first eight years playing in Phoenix for the Suns. He was signed by Donnie Walsh with the hopes of turning around this once proud franchise and so far so good. The Knicks are off 10-9 start and Stoudemire is playing the way we all thought/hoped he would. He talked with the guys about the change of scenery, whether the grits he was eating were from the box or made from scratch and what he thinks of his new team…
