B&C Show Blog & Audio: A Chance At History

Bobby Dwyer

At the end of yesterday's Show Boomer said that he was headed to the Garden later to watch the Rangers-Maple Leafs game and he needed at least two goals from Rangers right winger Marian Gaborik.  Low and behold, the Rangers beat down Toronto by a score of 7-0 and the aforementioned Gaborik accounted for four of the Blue Shirts goals on the night.  So when today's Radio Program began, the Blonde Bomber was flying high.  Before making his way to the Garden, Boomer made a stop at the Jets practice facility over in Florham Park to conduct some business for 'The NFL Today' and according to him, Mark Sanchez and the Jets are well aware of what is at stake this Sunday in Pittsburgh.  Then we hear that Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov has had enough with all of the nonsense surrounding the Carmelo Anthony trade talks and he has pulled the plug on any deal, which obviously bodes well for the Knickerbockers, stay-tuned.  Boomer's good mood quickly changed to a foul mood, as the Booms actually became rather combative after taking a few calls, during which we learned a little more about his night at 'the world's most famous arena'…

Jerry 'Rello' is a big Cowboys fan, but to show a little support for the Jets, today he decided to wear some green.  Apparently Jerry's wardrobe isn't stocked with too many articles of green clothing, because he elected to wear a t-shirt that prominently displayed the popular Dr. Seuss character the Grinch (who stole Christmas).  Way to be timely Jerry, and a Happy New Year to you and yours.  Jerry did make up for his wardrobe mishap by delivering a top-notch update which included some Rex Ryan audio, Mikhail Prokhorov & the Nets sour on Carmelo, the Knicks lose but emerge once again as the front-runner to land Melo's services, Brian Cashman thoughts on the Rafael Soriano signing, Marin Gaborik's goal scoring orgy, a few tidbits on Craig's childhood and the brief period where he owned the sandbox…

Brian Billick

Brian Billick is a no nonsense guy and this morning when he joined Boomer & Craig, right off the bat he put Craigie in his place by firing him as his agent, as he has still not landed another job as a Head Coach.  The fact he is not coaching somewhere is somewhat baffling, considering the success he had in Baltimore, but it works out well for us, because he has been a regular contributor to the Program all season long and it appears he will be free do to so moving forward.  He told the guys about Rex's days in Baltimore, when Billick was the Head Coach and what it's like preparing for Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers…

Kris Jenkins was traded to the Jets in February of '08 from the Carolina Panthers and to date has played just one full season with Gang Green (2008) since the transaction.  Jenkins' last two seasons have been cut short by injury and at 31 the stand-out defensive tackle is looking to pick-up the pieces.  Like Boomer, Jenkins 'likes turtles', meaning he too attended the University of Maryland, so that combined with his Jets ties made him a perfect guest for Boomer & Craig.  Jenkins was very entertaining, talking about how the QB's were tougher when Boomer played and what a great athlete Darrelle Revis is.  He also told the guys about his un-athletic childhood and the life changing Moment when he soured on baseball for life…

Mike Pelfrey joined B&C in-studio yesterday and shortly afterwards, the new Manager of those 'Not So Amazin' Mets Terry Collins named 'Big Pelf' his Opening Day starter, coincidence???  Probably, either way the news got the guys to talking about their opening day line-up, which at this point Craig is very excited about.  Then the guys offered Jerry a few pointers on how to make a bigger name for himself, or at the least become a viral sensation, in the world of play-by-play. In case you weren't aware, Jerry is the voice of the Columbia Lions football and men's basketball teams… ROARRRRRRR!!!!!

Stripper

The guys took a call from a Gal named Jennifer, who mentioned that she saw Boomer on the Charlie Rose Show a few days back.  Craig picked up on a nervous tone coming from Jennifer so he asked if this was her first time talking to such a big celebrity (I assume he was referring to Boomer).  Jennifer informed him that it was not her first time; in fact she said that she used to be a stripper and claims to have had many celebrity customers, including some former Yankees, but wouldn't reveal any names.  We also learned that she was stripping to put herself through mortuary school, which prompted an interesting question from Craig's radio partner…

When Kris Jenkins joined Boomer & Craig he told a story about an accident he had as a child that definitely qualifies as embarrassing, maybe even humiliating.  Either way, Jerry was entertained by the revealing story and selected it for his highly anticipated Moment of the Day…
