B&C Morning Show: Yanks And Mets Both Take Care Of Business
Yankees beat the Braves and the Mets beat the Rays, which meant Boomer & Craig entered the Allstate Studio early this Wednesday morning with a whole lot to talk about.
Craig was very excited because the Yankees wake up this morning with the best record in the American League and sole possession of first place in the AL East. On top of that, Alex Rodriguez put his name next to Lou Gehrig in the MLB record book by belting his 23rd career grand slam last night in the Bombers 6-4 win down in Atlanta.
As for the Mets, they busted out with 11 runs down in Tampa Bay to help the Yanks out by beating the Rays, who managed only two runs off of last night's winning pitcher, Chris Young. Jordany Valdepsin had 4 RBIs and certainly was 'the man.' Jason Bay, on the other hand,was only starter not to reach base and remains hitless since returning to the lineup on June 8th. Bay is 0-16 during that time.
To Boomer's dismay, Craig chose to focus on Bay's futility rather than the Mets' success. Al Dukes, who is a Mets fan, even admitted to rooting against Bay. Craig and Al's hatred for Bay befuddled poor Boomer.
