B&C Morning Show: Yankees' Problems Continue To Mount, Might Panic Be Setting In?
Boomer and Craig opened up today's edition of the Morning Extravaganza by talking about the struggling Bronx Bombers, who saw their lead in the A.L. East trimmed to 5.5 games, after dropping their second straight to the Orioles (fourth straight loss overall).
After 'humming' right along for the majority of the season, the Yankees have found themselves in some kind of slide, posting a record of 8-10 since the All-Star Break. Boomer isn't proud of it, but he did predict this swoon a few weeks back and despite feeling very good himself, the Booms claimed to fell badly for poor Yankee fans.
Craig clearly fell into the category that Booms was feeling sympathy for. Craig pointed to the fact that the Yanks still hold a 5.5 game lead (the largest lead held by any current division leader) and they are getting Joba Chamberlain back after he has spent the entire season on the D.L. With that said, Craig did sound a little panicked.
No matter how you cut it, Phil Hughes has got to come up big this afternoon in the Bronx. He will be opposed by Orioles left-hander, Zach Britton.
Boomer has not forgotten about his beloved Mets, and despite getting home late after last night's softball game in Craig's old stomping grounds of New Rochelle, Boomer stayed up to see the Mets come up short against the Giants, losing 4-1 out in San Francisco thanks to some more shoddy defense.
All of that and a recap of last night's aforementioned Team Carton softball extravaganza, which took place in Craig's hometown of New Rochelle, as they welcomed home one of their favorite sons...
